Robert McGeorge began his career in the Investment Division of Grubb & Ellis in 1981 working on Raw Land and Multi – Family. In 1985 he moved to Kansas City to work with a large regional venture capital firm acquiring low tech companies throughout the Midwest. In 1987 Mr. McGeorge moved back to Phoenix to become a financial analyst for Acacia Capital, a $3 billion REIT focusing on land banking and acquisition of large tracks of land throughout the southwest.
For six years from May 1990 to 1996 McGeorge was a founder of Main Street & Main (MAIN:NASDAQ), the largest franchisee of T.G.I. Friday’s. He was involved in all aspects of capital formation debt and equity through private placements and public offerings, raising approximately $35 million in equity along with $55 million of institutional debt for development.
In 1996, McGeorge moved back to West Valley where he grew up. Here he contacted the farming community for business ideas and founded Fielder’s Choice Produce, a company that specialized in fresh cut fruits with distribution to grocery stores, airlines, and Bank One Ballpark. In five years Fielder’s Choice grew 1200%, emerging as a $12 million company. Working with the growers Mr. McGeorge built an extensive network and knowledge of the West Valley real estate market and decided to come on board with DB&AI in 2004. Mr. McGeorge brings a wealth of financial consulting and analytical experience to the team, specializing in commercial land and development.
McGeorge holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Public Administration from the University of Arizona.
